In the artist's NSW studio Australian landscapes of greyish greens and soft powdery 'Aussie' blues hang beside pink skied Venetian works. Contrasting influences benefit from Sealy's distinctive impressionistic interpretation. Influences include the Heidelberg School and works by Streeton, Heyson, Gruner and Lance Solomon who in later years became a close friend.
In a recent interview with Australian Artist magazine Kasey was asked to discuss the key points of his style. He answered that he aims to begin each work with a great composition and then leaves the light to pull the strings. It makes the subject jump out at me and it dictates the atmosphere and mood I will create using colour. One of Kasey's strongest beliefs is the importance of creating art for the joy of painting. For him, art comes from the heart, not only the head. This verbal statement is echoed in the visual harmony of his paintings.
In 1993 'The Art of Kasey Sealy - Light and Atmosphere' was published. This volume featured fifty five selected original charcoal drawings and oil paintings.
2006 America- Australia Association Commission. Kasey has had three commissions from the America-Australia Association for Australian ex-patriots, Greg Norman, Andrew Liveris and Paul Anderson.
Kasey was very proud to be chosen as the artist to create special artworks for the members of the association being awarded for their particular achievements. The commissions were selected and painted based on subjects close to the hearts of the recipients. All the commissions were presented by Rupert Murdoch & Malcolm Binks, at presentation dinners to commensurate the occasions.
Greg Norman is a highly recognised Australian golfer. Andrew Liveris, is the president of the Dow Corning Chemical Company. Paul Anderson is an ex - CEO of BHP and is now the CEO of Duke Energy in America.
