A Game of Marbles (Plate 2b) Group of five children posed before brick wall pierced by green gate; two boys at left and right playing marbles; errand boy with basket and two small girls watching; small dog in right foreground. The work has been dated and identified from a contemporary review referring to the dog which 'appears to be watching what is going forward' 'the background of wall', and 'the boy who is about to play'.
