Wellingtonian Elise Mourant 1921 - 1990 attended both London's Slade School of Art and the National College of Art, Dublin. On her return to New Zealand she tutored at Auckland's Seddon Memorial Technical College, known today as AUT. She painted with fellow artist friends John Weeks, Ida Eise and Helen Brown. Her works are held in the collections of Auckland Art Gallery, Rotorua Museum of Art & History and Te Papa.
