Feline grace and 'big cat' beauty is captured to perfection in this series of works by New Plymouth based Jasmine Middlebrook. Soft pawed, yellow eyed tigers (Panthera Tigris) have regularly featured in Middlebook's spectacular large scale canvases. In this latest series of smaller masterpieces the leopard comes to play (Panthera pardus). A solitary animal of the bush and forest, mainly nocturnal in habit, although sometimes given to basking in the sun, Middlebrook's leopards are magnificent. Both lions and tigers are at home in the artist's world of fantasy realism, contributing their unique power and presence.
