About David Barker
English born artist David Barker graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours from Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland in 1964, obtaining his Masters at the University of Hawaii in 1966.
David Barker has since been involved on a variety of projects producing documentary and travel films, books, yacht design and construction. His painting career has spanned over thirty years, with exhibitions both in New Zealand and overseas.
He is most known for his series of Great Barrier Island works painted in the early to late 70?s. A more recent trip to Antarctica produced a series of the barren continent.
David now resides in British Columbia, Canada.
