About Celia Burton
Clelia Burton was a noted watercolourist with a focus primarily on New Zealand flora. She was born in Yorkshire, and began exhibiting her works of florals and landscapes, at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts between 1897 and 1907. A highly recognised piece being the Album of New Zealand Flowers, co-created with Alexander Horsburgh Turnbull, containing thirty-eight watercolour works.
