About Kenneth Welsh Hassall

Kenneth Welsh Hassall (1902-70), was a self taught print maker (linocuts and engravings) and an occasional (oil) painter. He was born in England and lived in New Zealand. Hassal was also an architect and worked as a draughtsman in Wellington between 1937-1952.

His talent is equally divided between painting and printing, capturing true tranquility of landscapes and other subject matter. His illlustrations were often featured in Art in New Zealand magazines. He died in Auckland.
