With the arrival of 2011 International Art Centre celebrates 40 fabulous years as Parnell's premier gallery and auction house. In 1971 the gallery opened its doors onto a rather sleepy, unsophisticated Parnell Road. This soon changed as International Art Centre became a destination for Aucklanders and visitors alike. Parnell embraced Saturday shopping, boom times and attracted world-class restauranters, fashion designers, jewellers and entrepreneurs. Auckland's oldest suburb sparkled with new energy built on historical foundations.
