The study with the pair of Straw-Necked Ibis, show Harris-Ching's continuing interest in both the splendour and diversity of glossy plumage and reflect his quite obsessive curiosity with the surface of things. The artist's dilemma remains the challenge of capturing the tenuous facets of light by means of solid and permanent strokes of paint.
