International Art Centre invites entries for our forthcoming IMPORTANT & RARE ART auction Tuesday 28 November.
Highlights include a major Don Binney oil on the market for the first time in 24 years, four works by Colin McCahon including Five, 1965, last seen at the 1965 The Group Show in Christchurch. The auction also features four works by Charles F Goldie, including the work illustrated above together with two exquisite drawings of Guide Sophia and a rare 1900 Landscape by the artist. A significant Private Collection of 1960s works by Michael Smither also features as an auction highlight. This tightly held collection with impeccable provenance comes to market for the first time. Three works by Teuane Tibbo feature, including a work titled School Festival, featured in a rare Robin Morrison photographic portrait of the artist and three works by Jacqueline Fahey come to market for the first time.
Also featured are works by Rita Angus, Felix Kelly, Allen Maddox, Ray Ching, John Walsh, Bill Hammond, Karl Maughan & Michael Hight. International highlights include a work by Dora Maar with impeccable provenance, a rare sculpture by American/Ukrainian Louise Nevelson & a work by elusive street artist Banksy.
