The Crusader was considered one of the fastest of the Shaw Saville ships. She was built by Connell of Glasgow and launched in March, 1865. Her measurements were: 1058 tons net, 1058 tons gross, 210,7 ft length, 35.1 ft. breadth, 21.4ft. depth. In 1878 she made a passage of 65 days from London to Port Chalmers. She was eventually sold to the Norwegians.
