ST FRANCIS TRIPTYCH. St. Francis stands with the birds he so loved and protected, against a background sometimes seen in Medieval paintings with parallel lines representing earth or a ploughed field.Water was similarly represented in the same style, with parallel wavy blue lines. I have gilded and varnished the handmade triptych, which protects my painting of the much loved Saint Francis. Patricia Payne.
