This painting is a small love letter to Picasso and one that makes us smile. In 1949 Picasso was invited to design an emblem for the first International Peace Conference, hence his famous stylised drawing of a white dove. Christine Webb playfully places a white dove centre stage above a very Picasso-esque ginger cat. To the right of the painting stands an African mask referencing Picasso's monumental Les Demoiselles d'Avignon. The artist's palette and brushes stand on a table with a cubist tilt.
