Simon Williams Exhibition Opening

Masterworks by Leading New Zealand Artist Simon Williams:

Over twenty major canvases dedicated to capturing New Zealand life 'At The Beach'. His first solo exhibition in four years Williams' says:

"These paintings reflect the strong, simple shapes of our landscape which are produced by our clear New Zealand light. In some of the works I have applied more paint than usual in order to create greater texture than in the past - it's a process of feeling the landscape through brushstrokes.

In these new works I have not allowed the subject to influence the canvas size. Intimate coastal scenes that once would have been painted as small works, are now rendered on a large scale, and I've enjoyed the contrast of small scenes being painted large."
