About Ian Pearson
Ian Pearson England / Australia b. 1951
Born in England in 1951 Ian arrived in Australia with his family in 1960. 1969 saw him studying architecture at the University of NSW and from 1970-2 studying Fine Arts at Sydney University and in 1976 gaining a Diploma in Art from Alexander Mackie College. For many years Ian Person tutored and lectured in drawing, painting and printmaking in a range of educational environments. Throughout the years, demand for his work resulted in extensive exhibitions with paintings acquired by both the public and leading collectors.
Ian Pearson says ... I just like to paint ... and he does so brilliantly. A deep understanding and accomplished use of colour, sees impasto oils applied with vigour and panache. Some of the works are both visual conversations and stylish contemporary tributes to artists who have gone before - as in the case of small and memorable Monet's Japanese Bridge. Original in concept, harmonious in composition, layered with colour, the works of Ian Pearson are enjoyable in the extreme.
